Dog Gone I

Description

Old dog house on my Great Aunt's farm. Hasn't been a dog in it for years.

Edit: Originally when I was a little kid, this was where Ruff lived. To my knowledge he was just an overgrown wire-bristle-haired mutt of a dog that had a huge booming bark and a big old need to nuzzle people who weren't scared of him....that or he just nuzzled me because he couldn't figure out why the scrawny human kid wasn't running away screaming. :giggle:

Then more recently (but still years ago) Aly lived in this dog house. And we were never sure of her pedigree, but she had a lot of Husky in her, and eyes you see on a wolf. SHe was...majestic I guess was the best word, and when she looked at you, her eyes made it feel like she was looking THROUGH you.

Why am I sharing all this? Because if this dog house ever gets torn down, which my Great Aunt is considering, this description will be the only mark those two loveable critters left on the world....their only memorial.

Interesting piece. I remember in Ny, some where on either route 7 or I-88, there was a barn roof that had "doggone" painted on it. It used to have snoopy painted on it. I think it needed to be removed or something... so it was painted over and the words were left. When I read your title... it all came flooding in... an old memory.
